TRES RIOS LODGE

A stylish boutique lodge with easy access to three major rivers, Tres Rios Lodge in Argentina offers premium service in a stunning location.

A remote yet polished lodge with enviable views and fly fishing.

Roughly an hour’s drive from Chapelco airport, Tres Rios is a truly sleek little lodge with exceptional water access and equally impressive dining.

The lodge takes its name (‘three rivers’ in English) from its location, right on a bluff overlooking the valley containing the Chimehuín, Aluminé and Collón Curá rivers: great views along with great fishing.

Fishing.

Owned and hosted attentively by Lucas Rodriguez Taschler, Tres Rios Lodge offers a great opportunity to float three major rivers from an impressively classy property on a beautiful private estancia.

Benefitting from enviable private access to 10 miles of the lower Chimehuín River, Tres Rios also provides exceptional wading. Lodge visitors enjoy exclusive access to a secluded section of the river only accessible from the banks of the property. This provides especially good opportunities for trout fishing later in the season from February to April, as guests can continue to enjoy wading through channels when boats can no longer float through.

With such a large range of water to enjoy, there are bountiful opportunities for streamer fishing, throwing dry flies and nymphing. Healthy populations of large brown trout and rainbows guarantee an unforgettable experience.

From Tres Rios, we can also float all three of the rivers, as well as wade the Chime.

Accommodation.

Tres Rios is a rarity: a modern, purpose-built lodge on a smart, privately owned estancia. The lodge can sleep up to eight visitors in three main ensuite rooms. There is also a more secluded private cabin with its own decking set apart from the main building. Rooms are spacious and traditional but tastefully decorated.

The property also includes a very well-appointed asado pit overlooking the river, a beautiful bar area and dining room, a spacious living room and even a small outdoor pool overlooking the Collón Curá River. It’s nothing if not classy.

At about an hour’s drive along a dirt road from Chapelco airport, the lodge is also totally off-grid and practically self-sufficient.

Dining.

Food and drink at Tres Rios is taken very seriously, and guests reap the rewards. Gourmet cuisine by excellent chefs is on offer at every meal, and the wine list is impeccably curated.

Weather permitting, guests enjoy meals with a view of the spectacular terrace overlooking the waters of the Collón Curá River.

Meals are further complemented by the premium service from the lodge staff and the attention and presence of the owner Lucas, who personally manages the entire operation.

Off the water.

Tres Rios Lodge is nestled in a small, riverside estancia, which offers its own horses to guests so they can enjoy riding around the beautiful property. Activities like bird watching can also be arranged.

Tres Rios’s secluded location means it’s better enjoyed by those looking for the peace and quiet found by getting a little off the beaten track.
